Intra-Cytoplasmatic Sperm-Injection (ICSI)

The ICSI therapy is an additional therapy to the IVF procedure that we use when the partner has a severely reduced sperm count or significantly reduced sperm function, or if fertilization was not possible in previous IVF attempts, since the sperm cell does not spontaneously penetrate the egg cell.

The preparation, stimulation and egg retrieval are carried out in the same way as for in-vitro fertilization. Egg cells and sperm are now specially prepared and the sperm is injected into the egg cell. The advantage of this procedure is that the father's sperm cell can safely get into the egg cell even if the sperm function is significantly impaired.
